Have you ever noticed this?  Although they do prefer to vocalize, cats can also signal emotions with their tails.  A cat twitches its tail to warn predators and tucks it close to its body when feeling threatened.

Cats have special cushions on their front paws that keep them from losing their balance.  Called "carpal pads," they keep the cat from sliding when jumping to a slippery surface.
